PV2 Fernando Gonzalez (right), a medic for Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 13th Armored Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st Armored Division from Austin, Texas, is presented with the Purple Heart Medal by COL David Bishop, 3rd Brigade commander, during a ceremony at Camp Taji. Gonzalez earned the award for being wounded in combat in Iraq.
