I can't be more proud of our troops for sticking it back in Mr. Kerry's face. He should have been a bigger man and atleast apologize right away for his "mistake". WAY TO GO GUYS! :)

Kerry is just a Moron. Who cared about what he says. As long as he feels safe at his $3mill home and you are out there putting your life on the line.....he can say all he wants.

Kerry put his life on the line too.
Maybe he shouldn't have said what he said, but using our troops to make political points is un-American. A\\By the way, how much do you think GW's house costs?

As a fellow soldier that spent time in Iraq, I think Kerry is an IDIOT! I pray of my fellow soldiers everyday that they will make it home safe.

Kerry is such an ASS. How in the hell can infer our military is uneducated and then try to say it was a cheap shot at Bush that went bad. I see a connection don't you. I am in a military family. My father in law is retired Air Force with a Masters Degree from Washington University in ST Louis. My cousin just left the Army after 8+ years with a degree in Engineering from West Point. I think Mr Kerry should go back home & put some Heinz ketch-up on the foot he likes to put in his mouth so much!!

I'm not familiar w/the Kerry quote, parden me for not taking the time to go look it up.

However, what you have in a volunteer army is the lack of incentive for people to join in(it's a risky business) unless they have to, want to or choose to.

Why would somebody have to? Well, financial reasons(lack of money) and life reasons(like not going anywhere, or looking for a change) are both reasonable.

Why would you want to/choose to? Well that might be part of something we might call patriotism, however, it is also open to debate whether or not it is more patriotic to go out on the front lines or to stay at home.

How about that the military runs advertisements saying that they will offer money for those who join in, to use to go to school?

Anyways, I am not doing a very good job at making my point, but I just wanted to throw that out there.

That being said, really no disrespect to those involved w/the military. I am willing to bet that Kerry's words have been twisted or taken out of context. Or maybe he used the wrong ones, I don't know.

ok, i looked up the quote.

"Education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. And if you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

awful choice of words, but it still holds some truth in it.

Yes, he put his life on the line then joined an anti-war orginization after he got back. And nobody is using our troops to make apolitical point. In case you didn't notice, those were troops holding that sign. What's more American than American troops standing up for themselves?
As for the idea that there is any truth in what he said... 98% of all soldiers have a highschool diploma or better, compared to 74% of the general public. Also, Kerry couldn't get into Harvard (he did apply) and Bush had a better academic career than Kerry.

Kerry is flat out an idiot. He calls our troops uneducated and then says he was talking about President Bush--even if he was talking about the president, he was calling a man who went Yale University uneducated. There is just no way getting around what he said. If he didnt mean it, he wouldnt have said it. I do give my props to our troops in Iraq who made that banner. C'mon uneducated people wouldn't have had the brains to do somethin like that!

I don't really support John Kerry, but I think what he said was totally misinterpreted--what he meant was that George Bush...ie the uneducated party...has left us in a bind in Iraq. I nevertheless don't support him. The point is we ALL support the troops, believe in your intelligence, and will pray for you all the way. TAKE CARE, Jen

I am ver proud of our Men that are fighting for our freedom. Kerry is no war hero. While he is living a very comfortable life in his mansion and being with his family for the holidays all of our heros are fighting for our freedom. Shame on Kerry. He is nothing in my book. Even if he did apologized, it would mean nothing other than cleaning up his trash that he said. Please be careful and I will think of my family and friends that are over in Iraq. God Bless all of you.
Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!!

i dont understsand why you guys are bad-mouthing kerry so much...

bush is just as incredibly rich, and he has avoided multiple times to fight in the vietnam war. does bush make a stronger leader than kerry? honesly i think both are awfully inadequate in running the war, but i believe kerry will run the war better only because he doesnt have millions of ties to the oil industry.

All said and done, the best and bravest Americans are in the shooting war fighting for freedom, something that everyone seems to forget. This is a 100 year war that started in 1939, same symptoms, different patient. Thank God for the USA ... no other country would have taken a stand against this enemy of free people.
