Union City, N.J., native SSG Galo Naranjo, a section sergeant with 1st Platoon, Troop A, 3rd Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, leads jundis (soldiers) of the Strike Force Company of 3rd Battalion, 1st Brigade, 11th Iraqi Army Division, during a search for explosive-making materials and unauthorized weapons in Qahirya, a neighborhood in Baghdad’s Adhamiyah District. The jundis partnered with the coalition forces to interact with residents, gather information and disrupt operations of a cell using roadside bombs in the area.
