CPT Colin Brooks, Commander, Company B, 2nd Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, talks to farmers from Muehla outside the Agricultural Union building Oct. 9. Brooks and his Soldiers delivered tractors, seed spreaders, water pumps and other items to the union as efforts continue to assist the union in working on its own before the 2nd Bn., 8th Inf. Regt. Soldiers redeploy later this year.

Gunnery Sgt. William Schmett (right) and Lance Cpl. Cody Neal work together to move a Thunderbolt F/A-18C Hornet after its arrival at Al Asad, Iraq, Sept. 1. Schmett is the powerline staff noncommissioned officer-in-charge with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 251, Carrier Air Wing One, Carrier Strike Group Twelve, and Neal is a fixed-wing aircraft powerplants mechanic with VMFA-251. Schmett is a native of Eavensville, Ind., and Neal is a Marietta, Ohio, native.

Lance Cpl. Vibol Sam, an infantryman assigned to B Company, 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 5, scans the streets of Fallujah, Iraq at Observation Post Fenton. The OP was named after one of the battalion's Marines who was mortally wounded while conducting combat operations in the city. Sgt. Matthew J. Fenton was a member of Headquarters and Service Company and served as a turret gunner for the Company's convoy. Sam is 21 from Lowell, Mass.

Food service specialists with 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment are self-proclaimed 'combat cooks' who brought a chow hall to the field so Marines could have a hot meal between missions. All Marines serve under Regimental Combat Team 5 and will be conducting operations in the Habbaniyah area.
